The multiplayer system allows players to tag team creatures and fight alongside each other while solving quests. There are no level restrictions in multiplayer combat. The multiplayer system automatically divides experience points fair and evenly based on each player's level and the level of the target creature so players of any level can join together. Also each player can have a pet in multiplayer mode for additional attack damage. Pets with special skills keep all of their abilities and can use them while in multiplayer mode. Multiplayer also uses 3D sound positioning which allow players to hear
combat sounds based on distance for added detail. Other game features such as the weather system and the time system both interact with multiplayer mode. Each player experiences the exact same time of day or night and when it rains for one player it rains for all players. Earth And Legend features great levels of detail, even when thunder strikes it flashes for each player at the same time.

The Combat System

Earth And Legend features a new and innovative combat system with real-time live action melee attacks and spell casting. The combat system has multiple types of melee damage which include slashing, blunt and piercing attacks. A large variety of melee weapons allow the player to switch damage types at any time. Weapons like bow and arrows cause piercing damage, swords and axes cause slashing damage, and hammers and clubs cause blunt damage. The combat system also features additional types of magical damage such as fire and energy attacks. The different damage types are important because certain creatures are more resistant or vulnerable to certain attacks. For example, attacking a fire based creature with a fire attack spell will do very little or no damage at all, so players must plan attacks carefully. Also, players can choose to enhance their combat skills in different ways. Earth And Legend features 3 different skill lines which allow a player to focus on becoming a better melee fighter, archer or magician. As the game progresses, special combat techniques and abilities can be learned such as area of effect spells, enhanced bow skills and unique hand to hand combat styles.

Pets

Earth And Legend features the ability to own pets. Not only do pets make great companions but they also are trained to fight alone side their owner in combat. In Earth And Legend, a player's pet can be transformed into a variety of different creatures, not only different types of dogs. Although dogs are the common pets used by many warriors, sometimes it may be better to use a different creature in battle. Different pet types do different forms of damage. While dogs do piercing damage with their bite, other pets do different melee or magical attacks. Also, each pet type has a unique skill or bonus that is used in combat such as the ability to stun an enemy or cause an enemy to bleed. Players can use special magical potions to transform a pet between forms at any time and there is no limit on how many times a pet can be changed.

Real Day and Night

Earth And Legend features a true in-game cycle of night and day on a 24 hour based time system. Every real world second is equal to 1 minute in the game world. This means that every minute or 60 seconds of real world gameplay is equal to 1 hour or 60 minutes in the game world. So for every 24 minutes that the game is played, a full night and day cycle of 24 hours passes in the game world. The night and day feature is more than just a visual element of the game, it also affected the gameplay itself. For example, some events and quests are based on the time of day. In addition, some creatures are affects by daylight and moonlight, becoming harder to kill if attacked at the wrong time. Just like in the real world, players are not forced to wait for time to pass. For a small fee, players can choose to sleep at the town's inn from 1 up to 23 hours. In fact, players are even be required to sleep from time to time because lack of rest affects a player's fatigue and stamina in battle. The time of day also has a strong impact on the environment as well. Even birds sing only in the daytime while crickets and owls are active at night.

The Weather System

Earth And Legend features a highly advanced weather system. Depending on weather conditions, from time to time it will rain. In some high altitude places it snows. Earth And Legend's weather system not only adds to the over-all look and feel of the game but also affects the environment in great levels of detail. Just like in the real world, when it rains the sun is blocked by clouds causing the sunshine to fade and the entire world dims. The weather is also linked to the sound system. Even birds stop singing when it rains. And of course people respond to the rain as well. Often people in town will pull out their umbrellas at the first sign of rain in order to stay dry. Rain intensity is another factor in the weather system. Rain storms often start as light showers and build up into massive storms. The strength the rainfall is linked directly to the sound of rain's volume which means the more rain that falls, the more it can be heard. A very strong rainfall will produce thunder and lightning which can be used by magicians. Some spells draw power directly from thunder and lightning, making the caster very powerful when it rains.
